India plans to announce a framework for 3G mobile and WiMAX networks by June 2008 and expects such networks to be launched by January 2009, Reuters reported on May 23 quoting India's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Andimuthu Raja. International companies, either as standalone entities or through partnerships with Indian operators, will be able to participate in the 3G spectrum auction, according to the Reuters report.
